How does Roxonin tape work?
The active metabolite of loxoprofen inhibits both COX isoforms, resulting in decreased expression of several mediators of pain, inflammation and fever (e.g. prostaglandins, prostacyclins, thromboxanes, etc.)
Therapeutic indications for Roxonin tape
Loxoprofen patches are used as an anti-inflammatory and pain reliever in osteoarthritis and muscle pain.
Swelling and pain after trauma.
How to give Roxonin patches
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
- If you are not sure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
- The patch should be applied once daily to the affected area.
- Application location:
- Do not use Roxonin strip on an area of damaged or broken skin or mucous membrane.
- Do not use Roxonin strip on eczema or rash areas.
- Doses may change under certain circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital immediately.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.
Unwanted side effects of Roxonin strips
- Serious side effects are not expected with this medication.
- Although the following side effects are not common to everyone, some patients may complain of:
- You have an allergic reaction after using the product.
- Signs may include: rash, hives, contact dermatitis and skin redness.
- Precautions during pregnancy and breastfeeding when taking Roxonin patches
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Special warnings and precautions when taking Roxonin patches
- Talk to your doctor if your symptoms get worse or do not improve.
- This medicine is intended for external topical use only.
- Stop taking the medicine immediately and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you experience allergic reactions such as shortness of breath, skin rash, or swelling of the face or neck.
- You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Talk to your doctor if you have:
- History of hypersensitivity to any of the components of Roxonin strip.
- History of aspirin-induced asthma (induction of asthma attack with NSAID pain relievers, etc.) (may lead to aspirin-induced asthma attack).
